Photoshelter survey names Peter Hurley as one of the most inspirational photographers!

My buddy, Joe McNally, took the well deserved top spot on this list, but to have photographers in a survey throw my name around is pretty darn cool! I was so excited to be part of this list and am glad that my spiel is resonating with some PEOPLE out there!

Thanks for those that voted and I hope to see many of you over the course of the next year at one of the many events I’ll be attending. WPPI, Photoshop World, Fstoppers Workshop in the Bahamas are going to be a total blast and I’m looking forward to getting over Europe this summer as well.

This fires me up, so let’s turn 2014 into a total SHABANG!

Keep up to date on my coaching site PH2PRO. Thanks again to everyone that voted!

IDA names Peter one of the 10 most famous portrait photographers!

Seeing this post come through over the internet was quite a surprise. For Indian Digital Arts to acknowledge me as part of this crew is a real honor and extremely humbling. I’d like to send a heartfelt thanks to them for considering me as part of this illustrious group of photographers.

I had the privilege of seeing Gregory Heisler yesterday and sat in on his talk at ImagingUSA called “The Evocative Portrait.”, what an incredible body of work. He’s truly inspiring and after the class I wanted to see if he’d seen this post yet, he hadn’t. I brought the post up on my iPhone and slowly went down the list until sure enough I got to his name. I told him hold on that’s only 9, there’s one more under you and there I was! We both got a little chuckle out of it.

Who knew? It really is all about the squinch!

When I released my first video(see jawline below) on how to be more photogenic in front of a camera in February of 2012 I had no idea how much attention it would get. However, that has paled in comparison to the release this past week of “It’s all about the Squinch!”

See for yourself for those that may have missed it:

Squinching has taken the world by storm and I’m being bombarded with news of people getting their squinch on in photographs everywhere. I thought the squinch would be bigger than the jawline video, but had no idea it would get 1/2 a million hits in less than a week and be featured in the news worldwide? Amazing and in my own lingo a major SHABANG!

Here’s the first one in the series:
